Qanba Obsidian 2 Pro Modding Kit – L3 / R3 / Touchpad Upgrade

Upgrade your stock Qanba Obsidian 2 with modern controls by adding dedicated L3, R3, and Touchpad (PS4/PS5) buttons alongside the standard 8-button layout. These additional inputs provide quicker access to training mode functions and can be assigned to other in-game actions where supported, giving you greater flexibility without changing the core arcade layout.

This upgrade is fully tournament legal, as each button simply replicates the corresponding inputs found on an official Sony DualSense/DualShock controller.

Fully Configurable

Many modern fighting games allow L3, R3, and Touchpad to be assigned to various functions, including:

• Training Mode Reset
• Drive Impact
• Drive Parry
• Throw
• Triple Punch
• Triple Kick
• Other game-specific shortcuts

Button assignments vary by game and can be configured through each game's controller settings.

The primary challenge is the required soldering.

Three solder connections must be made to the original Qanba Obsidian 2 PCB. If you have little or no soldering experience, we recommend practicing beforehand or having the installation performed by an experienced installer.

A detailed step-by-step installation guide will be available to walk you through the entire process.

What's Included (Requires a full Qanba Obsidian 2 to complete - parts are not sold separately) 

• Replacement Upper Shell with OLED display opening
• Precision Aluminum Top Panel (without OLED opening) or Clear Acrylic/Plexi Panel for custom artwork
• Initial black artwork insert for users planning to install custom artwork later
• Replacement Front Bezel (required, as the original bezel cannot be reused after the modification)
• Custom 2 mm Hex Top Panel Screws for a cleaner appearance—no adhesive screw covers required
• L3 / R3 / Touchpad wiring harness (requires cutting the connector ends and soldering three wires directly to the original Obsidian 2 PCB)
• NOTE:  The OLED screen mod will only work with a compatible PCB, such as the Brook Ultimate + Retro Board, GEN 5, GEN-5X or GEN 5 Wireless PCB.  If you plan to utilize this, make sure to pick up or have the other required accessories, such as our Quick Connect 20-pin harness

•  x 2 30mm Pushbutton (extra bottom buttons)

Custom Artwork

A clear acrylic top panel is available for users who want to personalize their controller with custom artwork. An initial black artwork insert will be included with the kit, while our full custom artwork printing service will be available later this month.

If you plan to install custom artwork, we recommend waiting for the artwork service to launch before final assembly
