It's surprising that up until now, for Seimitsu's LS-32/38 series joysticks, only square or circle restrictor plates were available.  Due to increasing requests for the octogate, Seimitsu has finally answered the call

Changing the guide gate to this octogate aides with smoother circular motions without sacrificing the rigid feel of locking into each direction.  This is compatible with the LS-32 and LS-38 series joysticks 

The octogate pattern here is taken from the octogate that is found in the Nobi lever
